No, from October 2014, Nurses who are from outside UK and European Economic Areas(EEA) have to undergo a a 2-part application process.
This process does not require applicants to complete a period of supervised practice
Nurses who have obtained Nursing and Midwifery Council permission before 30 April 2015 to undertake the Overseas Nursing Programme, and be sponsored to undertake a supervised practice placement as part of the programme, which has been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Yes. IELTS(academic) with individual score of 7 in each band is mandatory for nurses to apply for NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration
